8 Steps to Speed Clean Your Living Room

Things happen...

Your child spills something; your husband hits his hand with a hammer; you wash your new white dress with your new red dress and now you have a pink dress; your kids or your spouse invite people over and give you a fifteen-minute notice. We can help with that last one. Here is everything you need to know about speed cleaning your living room.

First, you need to grab your supplies. We have a list here you can look at to see what you need. It helps to keep your cleaning supplies together to cut down on valuable time spent hunting for the right cleaning supplies.

Now that you have your supplies, it’s time to declutter. Grab a laundry basket or a plastic tote to pick up things that don’t belong. Put it aside for the time being. You can put those items away if you have any extra time. If not, just place it in an out of the way location, such as a closet or bedroom, and you can take care of it later.

Next, you want to fold and put away any blankets and dust off any debris on the couch. Arrange the pillows, and then it’s time for the next step: vacuuming. Concentrate on doorways where dirt and debris tend to gather. You can spot clean floors with a sponge or cloth if necessary. After you take care of the floors, you should quickly dust any surfaces, like mirrors and glass tables. After getting rid of the dust, you should spot clean glass surfaces with a lint free cloth and glass cleaner.

Now you’re prepared for company!
